| New baby flowers are an ideal way to welcome new-born child into this world. It makes the parents happy and proud about the new arrival. It is an age-old tradition of presenting flowers to new babies. People take flowers while visiting a baby at home or in hospital. The custom has its root long back in the story of three wise men taking gifts to child Jesus. The three wise men presented gold, myrrh, and frankincense to baby Jesus. There is a belief that the gold has been replaced with flowers in later times.
The traditional color of new baby flowers for a male baby is blue and a female baby is pink. People of modern days may or may not select flowers on the basis of traditional colors. Different flowers of varying colors and sizes are selected for new babies. Most flowers selected have meanings that the provider wishes to tell. Yellow roses represent affection to the baby and white roses represent peace and purity. Calla lilies are presented to congratulate and to show respect to the parents. Chrysanthemums are presented with the view of wishing the parents for a long and happy life with the baby.
Artificial flowers are considered good choices to be presented as new baby flowers. This is because of two reasons. The first reason is that the babies are safe with artificial flowers compared to fresh flowers. As new babies have not yet fully adjusted to the environment, the pollen grains from the fresh flowers can cause allergy related problems to babies. Secondly, artificial flowers remain for long periods with less and proper care. Silk flowers that look real as fresh flowers are good among the artificial varieties.
Some people may think that presenting flowers to new-born baby is not reasonable, as the babies do not know to appreciate the gift. It is not worth to present fresh or artificial flowers to new babies. New baby flowers are actually meant to congratulate the parents for their newly born child. So, it is a good idea to select flowers that are liked by the baby’s mother to whom you wish to present flowers. |
